Queen Beryl

Manga: A long time ago, Queen Metallia came froma deep and dark place on the sun. Beryl encountered the queen and soon became her follower. Queen Beryl brainwashed the earth people. They became her slaves and she influenced them to attack the people of the Moon. Ultimately, the attack destroyed the Silver Millenium. The Queen of the Moon Kingdom, Serenity, killed Beryl. Beryl was reincarnated on earth and she discovered Queen Metallia in the North Pole. Beryl had taken refuge in a cave after a violent blizzard had set in, and she somehow released Metallia. She discoverd the Dark Kingdom and she soon became filled with evil and dark energy. Metallia gave Berylthe power to rule over the four generals knows as Jedite, Nephrite, Zoisite, and Kunzite. Sometime later, Queen Beryl is killed By Sailor Venus, who stabs her with the seiken.

In the Japanese version, there was no such introduction to what happened between the Moon Kingdom and Queen Beryl. However, throughout the episodes a little of the story is related, although not as extensively as the English Dub.
Name origin: The mineral Beryl (Beryllium aluminum silicate). It is one of the most important gem minerals. Beryl is colorless in pure form; it is the many different impurities that give beryl its varied coloration. Without these splendid color varieties, beryl would be a rather ordinary gemstone with only average fire and brilliance. Emerald is the green variety and Aquamarine is the blue variety of beryl.
